IA-APSE is the state chapter of national APSE. APSE is the only the only national organization focused exclusively on employment of people with disabilities in the community. Like the national, the Iowa Chapter focuses on increasing the number of individuals with disabilities employed in the community.
Becoming a member of APSE is simple. Go to the national web-page and click on Join APSE. As a member of the national organization, you automatically become a member of our state chapter. Yes, it is necessary to be a member of national. There are no “state-only” memberships.
Way to go!
Iowa APSE is a commendable organization. It’s been a great learning aid for me.
It is great having you in the group!
It’s great to be involved in IA-APSE!
So this is my first encounter with a blog and SueAnn shamed me into posting but honestly just getting a masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling does not give the knowledge of all the programs and services available for the people we serve. If we aren’t acquiring more understanding and knowledge we can’t adequately serve this population. I really appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the APSE board and have learned so much in the last year. It is very important for those of us that provide assistance to people with disabilities in reaching their highest employment goals by truely believing that all people can and should work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are right Suzie…. we have to believe that folks can work!!! We appreciate you being on the Board!
